  72 BONFIRE projects, drawings and films submitted for the Competition, will be presented at the exhibition. Beside of the celebration of ancient Bonfire traditions - the Competition is an attempt to look at tradition and architecture as a fluid, dynamic process, rather than rigid monument.
The use of film in Bonfire design was given as an opportunity to represent the process and dynamic construction.
Bonfire is a process based project where skills and knowledge can be learn and shared and discoveries can be made; and as soon as the process is completed - it'll into the flames.
3 projects, selected by the Jury, we hope to build and burn on the island Papa Westray (Papay) in Orkney.
Touring Bonfire exhibitions and workshops will be exploring origins of the project and the ways of a realisation; and also building the team of the Bonfire builders

  Looking at materials and various methods of weaving (traditional, experimental and computer generated )in application to the project by Bogdan Chipara, THE FLOATING PASSAGE. Using instructions created by the architect, help from expert weavers and experiment - we'll try to build models, real size details of THE FLOATING PASSAGE and ladscape furniture designed by Bogdan Chipara
